It’s quite possible that you don’t care about this. But almost two years ago, I offered a worded argument for Sidney Crosby as the 2005-2006 Rookie of the Year. If you remember, his biggest challenger at that time was eventual winner Alex Ovechkin, Washington’s two-years older, negative-adjectiveless 2004 draft pick.

The 2006-2007 NHL trade deadline had just as many transactions, but few of the superstar names. This year, with over 25 trades made in a day, and a busy month of February, some teams scored big–others, not so much. We look at some of the better deals and how helpful they will be.
