”Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” – Jacques Plante
Pride is good in small doses, but never something to depend on. With last [...]

“Nobody can be successful if he doesn’t love his work, love his job.” – David Sarnoff
And yes, I love this job. Thanks to Alin Mateescu and staff for bringing me to RMT.
Arguably, the best fan-centric franchise in the NHL resides at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. In their fledgling nine years, as [...]

The Pittsburgh Penguins have put Miroslav Satan on waivers. This move leads me to believe that they are making room and clearing space to make a deadline move today. It wouls seem that the player that will gain the most interest from other teams is young center Jordan Staal. The Pens have signed Staal to [...]

New Jersey Devils (39-19-3) — 1st, Atlantic…3rd Conf.
What got them there? Well honestly a resilient offense and timely goaltending from someone not named Martin Brodeur for most of the season is what got the Devils to this point. When Brodeur went down on November 1st…did anyone expect them to be in this position? No! Scott [...]

As powerful as the Red Wings may seem, 2nd place in the West, they have one big issue, GOALTENDING.
Neither Conklin nor Ozzie have been good enough this season, and let’s face it the Wings won’t repeat the great cup run with a .890 save percentage.
My personal solution, DO NOT TRADE FOR ANYONE, DO NOT CALL [...]

With the trade deadline less then one month away (March 4), there are trading rumors swirling around the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and Nik Antropov. Antropov is a streaky player who can have a breakout game and then play the worst game of his career the next, he is an unpredictable player! With this being [...]

For the most part of the season, the Habs loyal have linked their club to many star players. [...]

There are various reports that the Anaheim Ducks might be willing to trade Chris Pronger. Also that the Ottawa Senators could be sellers this year. With this in mind, could Chris Neil be available? Could those players be the extra toughness the Montreal Canadiens need to make a good push this year?

A little bit over 42 games have gone by for most teams, usually at this point we’re getting ready for the playoff push, and it is on this time that we come to see which players or teams have been either surprises or disappointments.
Let’s start with the players:
Who’s been great this year:
1.-Kyle Quincey, one of [...]

The addition of Brendan Shanahan means that someone will be coming out of the line-up for the New Jersey Devils. John Madden may not be coming out of the line-up, he might be leaving town.

The Montreal Canadiens are better by the numbers with the exception of the power play than at this time last year. Some surprises good and bad, and one hot rumour!

An article posted on TSN this morning is beginning to stir up a lot of discussion about the NHL in Toronto. The article suggests that National Hockey League officials think the Toronto hockey market is big and strong enough to have a second team. An anonymous governor of the NHL said “Why shouldn’t we put another team in the biggest and best market in the world?” Other executives around the NHL seemed to have no idea about this. Jim Rutherford of the Carolina Hurricanes said he had not heard anything like this at the meetings he had been at.
