East Belongs To Habs!!!

The Montreal Canadiens have taken over in the Eastern Conference by beating the New Jersey Devils 2-1. This Game was an emotional one for pretty much the whole game. With a goal from Mark Streit, and one from Andrei Kostitsyn, the Habs were able to seize control of their division and the conference.

The Habs now have 81 points which is one more that the Devils, and the Ottawa Senators, unfortunately the other teams in that conference are also winning and keeping up pace behind the Habs, this means that the Habs must keep going on their hot streak to keep ahead.

The Canadiens next game is Monday night against the San Jose Sharks, that game starts a 4 game western stint, the Habs had better be ready as the western style of play is alot rougher than the east. Carey Price has gotten the last 3 starts, even yesterday and today, meaning back to back starts, there is no reason to suggest that he will not start against the Sharks on Monday.

The Canadiens have played excellent hockey lately, allowing only 4 goals in the last three games, and scoring 12 in as many. It seems that the players are playing together, and backing each other up when need be, which will be needed to play the western style of hockey.

The Habs next four games look like this, the Sharks on Monday, the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday, the L.A. Kings on Saturday, and the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, let’s hope the Habs keep themselves on a roll.

  1. Boy, I never saw this coming.

Les Canadiens are having a heck of a season, that’s for sure. I thought a fight for 8th would have been an achievement for them.

If miracles do happen, maybe the Habs finish 1st and the Leafs take 8th (highly unlikely, but…). That would be a series I’d love to watch!
