For 2 reasons: 1.) Tanguay can be traded in the off-season if Sutter absolutely has to clear space. There was no impetus to trade him at the deadline. 2.) Trading Tanguay results in a big hole on the Flames LW (depending on the return). Dealing Alex for cap-space is problematic for the same reasons that dealing Jarome Iginla (7M/year) for cap-space would be: who replaces those contributions? Not really. For 2 reasons:

1.) Tanguay can be traded in the off-season if Sutter absolutely has to clear space. There was no impetus to trade him at the deadline.
