All quiet in the Windy City
Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports that Chicago Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon is not actively looking to make any trade or shopping for free agents.
When asked about the likes of defensemen Pavel Kubina and Danny Markov, and forward Tony Amonte being named in Internet rumors as possibly headed to Chicago, Tallon’s response was succinct.
“Nope.”
Tallon went on to say that he hasn’t had any recent conversations with other GMs or player agents in regards to trades or free agents signings.
However, while Tallon appears to be comfortable with the team he has assembled thus far, he remains interested in improving his club should a deal that betters his roster comes along.
“We’re going to see how training camp goes and see what we have,” Tallon said. “We never stop listening to any deal if it makes sense to improve our team. But it’s kind of quiet right now.”
