Doan and Nagy attracting attention

The Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch is reporting that the Phoenix Coyotes have received offers from multiple teams for their top two players.

Apparently, “several teams” have called the Coyotes to inquire about what it would take to pry captain Shane Doan and winger Ladislav Nagy off their hands. The Coyotes have “resisted the offers to this point.” Both players are unrestricted free agents at the end of the season, and both would be considered to be great acquisitions for a team looking to improve their playoff rosters.

Garrioch also claims that the ‘Yotes have been “actively shopping around” trying to see if they can make a deal, but aside from Doan and Nagy there isn’t anybody on their roster that GMs covet. More than likely, the Desert Dogs are looking to sell, rather than buy — the Coyotes sit 14th in the Western conference and 11 points out of a playoff spot.

It’s expected that if they are to move any of their top players, the Coyotes will wait for closer to the February 27 trade deadline, in order to get a better return.
