Forsberg wants to play in the NHL this season, but unsure when
The Edmonton Sun is reporting that unrestricted free agent forward Peter Forsberg would like to return to the NHL this season.
However, the Swedish-born player isn’t willing to commit to any team before he feels 100% that he can contribute on the ice according to his agent.
“We’re not going to get engaged with any teams in terms of any serious contract discussions until he can be sure his foot is where he wants it to be,” Forsberg’s agent Don Baizley told The Canadian Press yesterday.
“He’s not putting a timeline on when that’s going to be. Peter’s decision is not imminent, that’s for sure.”
In 57 games with the Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators last season, Forsberg recorded 13 goals and 42 assists for 55 points while earning $5.75 million.
