Hawks eyeing Rangers
Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that two Chicago Blackhawks scouts were present at Sunday night’s New York Rangers game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Brooks believes that “Chicago director of player personnel Rick Dudley and pro scout Marc Bergevin” were there to scout forward Petr Prucha.
After scoring 30 goals last season, Prucha has become “somewhat of a forgotten figure” this season. Due to Brendan Shanahan’s arrival in the Big Apple, Prucha’s power play time has been cut down more than “a minute a game,” thus hampering his production. It’s believed that the Rangers would part with Prucha in order to acquire some defensive help.
And that’s where the Blackhawks come in. The team from the Windy City is said to be shopping defenseman Brent Seabrook and are trying to “land a forward.”
