Jokinen, Blake, Kessel staying put? Flames, Maple Leafs playing possom? What’s up with Hossa?
TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported that it’s looking unlikely forward Olli Jokinen of the Florida Panthers and pending unrestricted free agent defenseman Rob Blake of the Los Angeles Kings will get moved.
It was believed that Blake would only waive his no-trade clause if he could go the Colorado Avalanche. However, with Colorado’s addition of Adam Foote from the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the day, the it appears as though the Avalanche may not need Blake.
Meanwhile, Darren Dreger suggests that Boston Bruins forward Phil Kessel isn’t going anywhere, although his reason as to why that may be seamed a little weak.
Lastly, Michael, one of our regular readers, sent in his thoughts on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames:
Flames GM trying to pull off a Cliff Fletcher stunt. In saying that now he won’t trade Alex Tanguay, possibly trying to get more value in a trade for his player. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see both Tanguay and Sundin traded, but will be a bit of a shocker for most nhl fans.
Updated: 2:25 Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos suggests that the Pittsburgh Penguins may make a play for Atlanta Thrashers pending UFA forward Marian Hossa.
