Two contract offers has Markov pondering where to sign
The Score TV station is reporting on their website that unrestricted free agent defenseman Danny Markov is contemplating two contract offers.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are said to have offered Markov a two-year contract, and are now waiting on his decision.
However, that decision may not come too soon, as it’s believed that the rugged blueliner also has a one-year offer from Vityaz Chekhov of the Russian Super League on the table.
To make room for Markov on their roster, the Penguins would have to make a roster move.
One of their options is to demote rookie defenseman Kristopher Letang to the their AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. There is also the possibility of a trade, possibly involving blueliner Brooks Orpik.
