The sense I am getting here is that despite being given a couple of consecutive starts, Ray Emery is the guy most likely to be dealt if Ottawa were trading for a bona fide starter…

His attitude really got people upset here, and I think Gerber has been (by contrast) a real team guy. He doesn’t complain in the media, and does his job at practice and when called upon in games.

Regardless though, it would take some serious dancing on the accounting ledger to make room for Khabby. They’d have to include Vermette in the deal, but would still be adding quite a bit of salary for next season.

What about a Bullin for Gerber swap?

So far, there’s a lot of talk here in Ottawa that would suggest Bulin is definitely on Bryan Murray’s radar… Despite having a bad time of it in Chicago, I’m still of the opinion that his experience with Tampa makes him an upgrade over Emery or Gerber… Salary’s a bit of a pain though…

The Hawks may also try to move Lang. The Devils
apparently have some interest.

And if they get a sucker to take ‘Bullin off their hands, they’ll probably jump all over that deal.

I think the buyers and sellers are reversed… I’d also say from the buzz that the Hawks are going to be both buyers and sellers at the deadline. They may try to move guys like Havlat and Ruutu, but would definitely be in the talks for Brad Richards if he should become available officially…
