Canucks and Forsberg, more Forsberg, and Peca
Will the Canucks land Peter Forsberg? Is Peter Forsberg’s father trying to stir up interest in his son with NHL teams? If Mike Peca doesn’t sign with the Rangers, where might he go?
According to Ed Willes of The Vancouver Province, the chances of unrestricted free agent forward Peter Forsberg landing with the Vancouver Canucks are not really good.
Word around the NHL is that the recent hype revolving Forsberg was “orchestrated” by his father, according to Willes. Apparently, Kent Forsberg contacted a Western Conference franchise — that wasn’t the Detroit Red Wings — where Forsberg wanted to play. The team had no interest in the Swede’s services.
Michael Arace of The Columbus Dispatch reports that if UFA forward Mike Peca fails to sign with the New York Rangers, he could very well end up with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
