Canadiens pursuing Brisebois?
Pat Hickey of The Montreal Gazette reports that the agent for unrestricted free agent defenseman Patrice Brisebois has confirmed the Montreal Canadiens have expressed interest in his client.
According to RDS, Canadiens GM Bob Gainey has offered Brisebois a one-year deal worth $700,000.
However, Brisebois’s agent, Don Meehan, denies any such offer was made. Meehan says that talks are ongoing and he is still trying to determine if a deal with the Canadiens is a “good fit” for the former Habs blueliner.
Brisebois played with the Colorado Avalanche last season where he scored one goal and recorded 10 assists in 31 games.
