My personal opinon on Habs trade rumours

We all know this is the 100th season of a great hockey club the Canadiens, but I must point out the fans of this storied franchise must be getting on the management’s nerves. Let me explain my point.
For the most part of the season, the Habs loyal have linked their club to many star players. [...]

2010 Canadian Olympic Squad

Steve Yzerman, one of the most beloved figureheads in all of hockey. Continuously mentioned in the same breath as recent hockey greats; Gretzky, Lemieux and Messier. His resume as a player is almost unparalleled; 6th place in all-time NHL scoring, 10 time NHL all-star, recipient of the Lester B. Pearson, Frank J. Selke, Conn Smythe [...]

Dallas Stars Season Preview: Making It Happen

The Stars have a tough job this season. Last season, they came closer than they had in a long time to winning the Cup. The Stars were known as a “one-and-done” team, one of those teams that makes it to the playoffs consistently, but can’t get past the first round for whatever reason. Owner Tom Hicks has said that there’s a good feeling in the locker room this year, a feeling of hope, a feeling of strength, a feeling that they have what it takes to win it all. Will the Maple Leafs consider buying out Darcy Tucker? Did Erik Christensen want out of Pittsburgh? Should the Bruins re-sign Tim Thomas, Glen Metropolit? Were the Sharks intent on moving Patrick Marleau before the deadline? Did the Canadiens miss out on deals with the Blackhawks, Flames? Do the Capitals intend on re-signing Cristobal Huet? Why did the Blue Jackets trade Adam Foote, couldn’t trade for Brad Richards? Which teams chased Tuomo Ruutu before he was dealt to the Hurricanes? Will Ryan Miller leave the Sabres after next season?

Here yesterday, gone today

The 2006-2007 NHL trade deadline had just as many transactions, but few of the superstar names. This year, with over 25 trades made in a day, and a busy month of February, some teams scored big–others, not so much. We look at some of the better deals and how helpful they will be.
