Another Big Man Disappears

Joe Thornton’s reputation of less than stellar playoff play has been well documented and, at least in the minds of San Jose fans, well deserved. Another regular season superstar could fall into the same category, if things do not turn around soon. With Ovechkin and Crosby essentially cancelling each other out on the scoreboard, Malkin [...]

Pens: Flat Start to Playoff Push

The Pittsburg Penguins are a team that will take any win they can get. The New Your Islanders gave them quite the game.

New Jersey Devils: All-Star Break Report

When Martin Brodeur went down with an injury, no gave the New Jersey Devils a chance to make the playoffs. Now at the All-Star Break the Devils sit atop the Atlantic Division. Here is a look back at the first half and a preview of whats to come for the New Jersey Devils.

Leafs rebuild is underway

It was announced yesterday that Brian Burke had traded Robbie Earl to the Minnesota Wild for Ryan Hamilton.

Rangers Versus Leafs – Game Impressions

It’s tough to watch the Rangers when you live in Ottawa (still working on getting Centre Ice). However, I discovered that Leafs TV online is still offering free online streaming of games, including the broadcast. That’s how I enjoyed watching a tense 1-0 Rangers shootout win against a relentless Toronto Maple Leafs team last night.

A Few Notes from the Season Opener

So Habs fans, the Centennial season has commenced! We’ve been waiting a while for this, and here we are…too bad Ryan Miller and the Sabres had to go spoil it. Not to fear, fellow believers, not to fear. It’s one game, decided by a shootout-there’s no shootouts in playoffs. Besides, we all know Carey Price’s track record in shootout-he’ll be fine.

Habs Breakdown Part 2

The Montreal Canadiens are officially out of the post season, here’s a breakdown on the reasons why I believe they didn’t go any further.

Round 2, Match-Ups

The second round of the play-offs will be as good, if not better than the first round. With all the interesting match-ups for the next round, it’s hard to say which one will be the best to watch.

Habs Shut-Out Bruins 5-0, And Take Series 4-3

The Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins 5-0 at the Bell Centre tonight, in doing so the Habs also take the series 4-3, the fans finally saw the real Habs.

Habs Snooze, And Lose

The Montreal Canadiens once again lost to the Boston Bruins, this time 5-4 in Boston. Saku Koivu, and Francis Bouillon both came back tonight, it seemed to spark the Habs, obviously not enough.

Rangers Blank Isles 3-0

It really doesn’t get much worse than having your hated rivals clinch a playoff spot by beating your team on it’s home ice… and shutting them out, no less.

Habs Bounce Sabres

The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Buffalo Sabres by the score of 3-1 tonight, by doing so, the Habs eliminated the Sabres from getting in the play-offs, and have tied the Pittsburgh Penguins atop the Eastern Conference with 102 points.

Bruins Push Leafs Out Of The Playoffs

TSN is reporting that the Boston Bruins have stopped the Toronto Maple Leafs hopes of making the post season tonight after defeating them by the score of 4-2.

Habs Clinch By Beating The Sens 7-5

The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Ottawa Senators by the score of 7-5 tonight, and by doing so have assured themselves of making the play-offs, and the Habs also padded the division lead by two points making their lead on Ottawa now 7 points.

Flyers Soar Past Islanders 4-1

4-1 victories over the Islanders are becoming a habit now for the Philadelphia Flyers.
