Tampa Bay Lightning and GM Jay Feaster go separate ways

It seems to me that every week there’s a new Tampa Bay Lightning move, to be honest with you I believe this one is mind boggling.

Mikhail Grabovski To Leafs

Mikhail Grabovski is no longer a player from the Montreal Canadiens. Now just guess where he is now!

Vancouver offers Sundin $10 million

According to TSN veteran center and longtime Toronto Maple Leaf Mats Sundin has received an offer from the Vancouver Canucks that’s supposed to pay him $20 million over two years.

Is Ryan Malone really worth 7 million?

Over the last few days we’ve seen all kinds of weird trades, some may change the course of an entire franchise just like the Toronto Maple Leafs/New York Islanders trade at the draft, while others seem to be a quick fix to an overwhelming lack of scoring, just like the Tampa bay Lightning/Pittsburgh Penguins deal.

Sundin Talks To Habs

RDS is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs have given permission to the Montreal Canadiens to talk with Mats Sundin.

Draft Day Frenzy

The 2008 entry draft is two days away. At this point too many things are happening to believe no trades will take place. Here are some final rumours.

Wilson Hired, Crawford Fired

Today one coach was hired, that would be Ron Wilson. One coach was fired, that would be Marc Crawford.

There Is A First Time For Everything

The Detroit Red Wings are the Stanley Cup champions for the 2007-08 season. After being the best team in the NHL all season long. The Wings won their fourth cup in eleven years. One player on the team however made history.

Pre-Draft Habs News Part 1

The NHL entry draft is in two weeks. The Montreal Canadiens are making some news. Some rumours are floating around about players coming, being interested in, or the Habs having interest in them. Along with some minor news.

Is Ron Wilson The Leafs Next Coach?

Is it finally going to be announced: The Toronto Maple Leafs next coach? God knows people in Toronto are dying to know who it’s going to be! Who’s Cliff Fletcher after? Well the rumors might become reality as soon as today.

If you were The San Jose Sharks’ GM Doug Wilson…

…would you move guys like Patrick Marleau or Joe Thornton? Anything a GM does is an attempt to make his team better, but would that be the move to help the Sharks gain some depth?

Much Ado About Mats

Much has been made in regards to Mats Sundin’s comments about his hockey future. Will he stay? Will he go? Will he hang up the skates? No one, not even Sundin apparently, knows. Unfortunately, it looks like this situation is going to drag on for another few weeks until Sundin figures things out.

Coach Culling Continues?

There are a lot of reports surfacing in the mainstream media that former LA Kings coach Barry “Billy Ray” Melrose will be introduced as the Tampa Bay Lightning’s new head coach, possibly as early as today. That might be a problem for current coach, John Tortorella…

Toronto Maple Leafs Talent Development is Abysmal

In my honest and ever-important opinion, Greg Gilbert should be fired for choosing to play Scott Clemmensen ahead of Pogge. It was an absurd decision and one that could only be allowed to happen under this franchise. Someone - i.e. Cliff Fletcher - should have stepped in and made sure Pogge was between the pipes. What you have here is another, might I add shining, example of Toronto Maple Leafs player development. Textbook MLSE development. You know how we do.

Cap To Increase By 6 Million

Sports Business Daily is reporting that the NHL salary cap will increase from 50.3 million to 56.3 million next season. The cap floor will also increase, it will be at 40 million, or a little above.
