Winter Classic to be played in Chicago
We all remember the Winter Classic played in Buffalo New Years Day. This year the Winter Classic is making its way to Chicago where the Blackhawks will face off against the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field on January 1, 2009.
This is a rivalry of the original six and it will be a heated battle as well as a memorable one. The Chicago Blackhawks have revamped their team will some much needed offense, defense, and net minding while Detroit recently acquired Marian Hossa. This will be a good showdown.

It should be a good one. An original 6 matchup, between the defending champs and the up and coming Hawks.
I’ve been actually hoping the Wings would end up playing the Leafs in an outdoor game. That used to be a great rivalry… until the Leafs moved to the East.
