Grabovski, O’Byrne, And Halak!

RDS is reporting that Mikhail Grabovski stayed behind in Phoenix after the Montreal Canadiens won 4-2 on Thursday, and used his own transportation to get to L.A. and be with the team.

This was pretty ridiculous of Grabovski as he really didn’t play that well since he was called up at the trade deadline, perhaps he thought that by doing that coach Guy Carbonneau would insert him back into the line up. Look Grabs, no-one cares how much talent you have, and how good you might be in the future, some veterans sat out this year, who are you to decide that you should be played, you are a player, and players don’t make decisions.

Ryan O’Byrne put all of his 6′6″ and 228 pound into a couple of people who thought that running a Habs goalie was ok after the San Jose Sharks game, but the Phoenix Coyotes learned that we have more than Mike Komisarek that can defend the front of the net. With Komisarek, and O’Byrne, the Habs have a couple of big boys back there that can clear the net when need be. O’Byrne will need all the experience he can get as the play-offs are soon here and the Habs will have to be more physical if they hope to go far, good thing for Komisarek, and O’Byrne.

Jaroslav Halak will make the start in goal for the Canadiens on Saturday as the Habs face the L.A. Kings. Halak played good down the stretch for the Habs last year as Christobal Huet was injured, and they had no faith in David Aebischer, hopefully he will get the rust off and be able to help the Habs get a needed win as the New Jersey Devils won tonight and claimed sole possession of the Eastern Conference. Halak was also called up at the trade deadline. Jaroslav will be making his first start this year and it’s on the road, where he was pretty bad last year, let’s hope that he does better on the road this year.
