		<description>Reason I said offer $3M as a final offer is because Avery himself approached management with tales of woe.  He felt he wasn&#039;t living up to his responsibilities on the team and that nobody would want him in the offseason.  To me, that&#039;s basically a guy asking to come back.  And, if that&#039;s the case, he should be willing to accept even a $2.2M-$2.5M per season salary for two years, and do his negotiating on the ice...

At his peak, I&#039;d agree to Avery getting $3.5-$3.8M  Why not?  His intangibles are worth a lot, at least according to anyone who has played with him...</description>
